About the Prayers
These prayers originate in Japan where the concept of a divine presence in all forms of life, be it a rock or a tree, is not only accepted, it is an integral part of the Japanese culture.

Western traditions are referring to a similar concept perhaps when speaking of nature spirits, or elementals. Feel free to use your own words, but do try to keep the first sentence as it is: "On behalf of humanity".

Living in harmony with the laws of Nature
The world of nature lives in harmony at all times. Both the universe as well as the earth are forms that live in harmony with the laws of nature. The human heart and nature are likewise partners in life, interacting and strongly influencing each other.

The words and spirit of gratitude expressed by saying “thank you” possess the energy to harmonize people. We invite you to use the following prayers of gratitude and to create your own. Together, in a renewed partnership with Nature, may we evolve a new world.

Gratitude to the Sun
On behalf of humanity, we thank you, divinities who govern the sun.
We thank you, dear sun. You cheer and sustain us from moment to moment.
Without you, all life on earth would be unable to live.
We heartily thank you for your limitless blessings.

May Peace Prevail on Earth.
We thank you, divinities who govern the sun.

Gratitude to Water
On behalf of humanity, we thank you, divinities who govern water. We thank you dear water. Without you, we coud not live.
We heartily thank you for your precious existence and functions.
May Peace Prevail on Earth.

We thank you, divinities who govern the water. May the divine missions of water be accomplished

Gratitude to Food
On behalf of humanity, we thank you, divinities who govern food.

We thank you, all dear foods. Our lives are sustained by you from day to day.

May Peace Prevail on Earth.
We thank you, divinities who govern food.

Since 2001, an “IN” (Mudra) accompanies the recitation of the Prayers of Gratitude, helping to imprint their positive vibrations into the ether. The “IN” is easy to learn and can be done anywhere, adults and children alike enjoy its practice.
